For sale is the AMR CD-777, a top-tier CD player from Abbingdon Music Research (AMR) – the high-end parent company of iFi Audio. iFi Audio is globally recognized for creating its compact hi-fi, while AMR designs full-sized reference-grade components focused solely on elite sound quality.

The CD-777 is AMR’s high-end CD player, and it shows. It’s a hybrid tube/solid-state design, offering the warmth, musicality, and depth of tube audio, combined with the precision and detail of solid-state circuitry. It features visible tubes behind a glass panel, and a top-loading CD transport with a magnetic puck for optimal disc stability and performance.

What makes this player special is its multi-DAC architecture. It lets you switch between different digital filter and upsampling modes, giving you control over the sound profile—rich, smooth, or detailed depending on your preference or system.

It’s in excellent condition (see photos), fully working, and has been lightly used by its original owner before entering my personal collection. Only selling due to an upgrade.

This is one of the only AMR CD-777 units in New Zealand, and likely one of the few in Australasia.
