The CD player employs Pioneer's famous Stable Platter Mechanism where the disc is loaded upside down. My experience with these Pioneer's is they play just about any disc, scratched or not.

A useful feature is the ability to switch the display off. There's a full size 6.35mm Headphone jack with volume control. Numerous other features like Peak search, Repeat, Edit function.

At the back there's the standard Line Out however you can choose between Fixed or Variable. There's also a Digital Optical output. Comes with a working remote control.

The amplifier is the replacement for the acclaimed A-400. A very capable machine with 50wpc,no Tone controls or circuitry, it suits efficient speakers. Theres also a quality MM/MC phono stage with push button access on the front panel. The speaker terminals have been configured to allow for bi-wiring which does make a positive impact.

The Tuner is extremely easy to use and picks up signal really easily. There are upto 36 memory station presets. Tuning can be done either manually or automatic.

The VFD displays on both the CD Player and Tuner are still bright and easy to read.
