This is used to switch between two amplifiers and/or between two pairs of speakers. One application of it is to compare amplifiers and/or speakers.
I purchased it about 18 months ago and have barely used it. I had an amplifier which had only one set of binding posts, and wanted to try two different sets of speakers with it.
This switch is not externally powered and contains no software. It has a "break before make" connection method - and the supporting documentation strongly recommends only having one amplifier powered on at a time.
