For sale is a very nice Japanese-built 2-speed, belt-driven turntable, with all the features that you’d want to get the most out of your vinyl collection. The Pioneer PL-516 is a vintage turntable that will run circles around most modern offerings!

For the PL-516, Pioneer uses a high-quality FG servo DC motor, with pitch adjustment, which can be easily set via the in-built strobe light and dial.

The tonearm is a statically balanced s-shaped pipe arm with an effective length of 221mm…and like all good turntables features anti-skating, cueing device and adjustable counterweight. Another feature that Pioneer built into the PL-516 is end of play auto-return and shut-off, which protects both record and stylus, and at the same time provides you with real convenience. I’ve also clad the exterior in real timber veneer to increase its vintage charm.

Contributing to the overall low-error speed constancy of the PL-516 is its 320mm aluminium diecast platter and heavy cabinet/plinth and insulator feet. It also features a detachable headshell, so that cartridges can easily be swapped.

It’s in perfect working order, and in good physical condition, outside the odd blemish and usual marks on the dust cover.

The turntable comes with a copy of the user manual …..and a Shure M93 cartridge/stylus…which means that it’s fully ready to spin some vinyl!
