This is an auction for my (used) Sony PlayStation "Phat" PS3 UK model CECHC03.

This is the first of the PAL PS3 models, and it's the only backwards compatible (PS1 and PS2) PS3 model released in the PAL territories. It has the hybrid hardware/software emulation in that it doesn't have the PS2 "Emotion Engine" CPU instead it's emulated via the PS3 hardware, but it does have the PS2's "Graphics Synthesizer" GPU on board resulting in a hybrid hardware and software emulation for PS2 games. All the later PS3 models dropped the on-board PS2 hardware.

The original NTSC and the PAL CECHExx PS3 models were also the only video game consoles ever made to feature a Super Audio CD player.

My PS3 is as follows:

Just a note on the firmware, this v3.55 version had some security vulnerabilities that enabled users to alter the PS3 software to allow the running of 3rd party programs and provided the ability to play backups of PS3 games. So you might want to upgrade it ASAP.... to prevent this terrible situation...

I've tried to capture the condition of it in the photos, but it's quite hard to photograph as it has a mirror finish and a chrome surround. It has a scratch on the top (under the "tio" of the Playstation logo), and white discolouration on the left hand side (see photos for close ups of both of those). I didn't try to clean that off in case I damaged the plastic - so it may clean off, or not!

This console is heavy it weighs about 5KG alone so postage will be high.
