I bought my PS5 Portal Remote in May 2025 for $358, but since I bought it, I have been having Wifi connectivity issues. At first I thought it was my wifi setup, since the bedroom I wanted to play in was far from the Wifi router. I bought a Wifi extender to boost the signal, but this didnt help either. I also researched forums and tech sites to see if there was a Wifi setting that could be causing this issue. When I tried to use the Portal in the same room as the Wifi router and still had issues I knew the problem was with the remote. I took it back to JB HI-FI in September 2025, who then sent it away to have it checked for faults. Supposedly, there was a fault with the Wifi unit in the remote so JB HI-FI gave me a brand new Portal remote. I took it out of the box, fired it up, and experienced the same connectivity issue within 5 minutes, so I am now convinced the problem is my Wifi (or the tiny chance that I have been given two units in a row with the same faultyt wifi receiver, which is unlikely).

Long story short, I have a perfectly fine Portal Remote, used only once for 5 minute, which I cannot use and dont have the energy to do anything about.

Happy to let it go for $250 just to get something back. If this unit has the same issue as the previous unit I am happy to return your money (once you have sent me a video proving you are having the same connectivity issue and also return the unit of course).

To be clear, I am selling a brand new PS5 Remote Portal console unit (black) JB HI-FI gave me in return for my faulty unit.
