This is a rather rare piece. Absolutely stunning, exquisitely carved late Victorian Art Nouveau Dressing Table – it's hard to find something like this one in New Zealand, and even in the UK.

This nicely carved unique Dressing Table / Dresser with elegant Cabriole Legs and Beveled Mirror can compliment any bedroom, but can also help to decorate a lounge area . The wood is Mahogany, the country of origin is England. The drawers are nicely lined with a decorative fabric, the lining is new. The table is in excellent condition for its age, and was not in use since we restored it and lined the drawers.

Art Nouveau was a famous decorative style that became popular in Europe, the UK and US between 1890 and 1910. It impacted, among many other things, furniture design. The term 'Art Nouveau' is French, meaning 'New Art’, but the style was even more popular far away from France, in many other countries around the World. Its goal was a new art for a new age. The other name of that bygone period is the “Era of Arts and Crafts”.

This Dressing Table is very elegant, in a class of its own, and would grace anyone's home regardless of décor – this piece of bygone era Art is more than just a furniture - surely it is a collectable item, so could be considered as an investment.

Due to both the quality of the craftsmanship and the nature of the item we firmly believe that this piece is of genuine Victorian origins.
