Description
We purchased from an antiques shop in Paraparaumu early last year. We spent a lot of time and effort sanding it and then oiled it.
Most of the photos were taken before we replaced the handles. Second photo shows you the new handles.
Fowler Drummond & Waddell were leaders in contemporary furniture design and production in New Zealand during the mid 20th century. The company focused on high quality construction and their furniture is often defined by simple linear forms inspired by the Scandinavian cabinetmakers of the era.
FDW furniture is distinguished by a preference for solid timber rather than veneer for many of the pieces. The company favoured oak in the 1950's and switched to mahogany in keeping with current trends in the 1960s. Width: 1080cm Height: 700cm Depth: 430xm
