This particular piece is from Woodpecker's Heritage Series and is made from recycled Rimu from Riverlaw House following the February 2011 Christchurch Earthquake.

It comes with a certificate of authenticity (see photos) and states: “The timber used for the furniture you have selected is predominantly recycled Rimu, and was extracted as a result of the demolition of Riverlaw House due to the Christchurch February 2011 Earthquake. One of Christchurch's grand homes, historic Riverlaw House in Aynsley Tce which has been a landmark on the riverside in Opawa for more than a century Riverlaw has historical interest for its association with several prominent Canterbury pioneers and is regarded as having cultural significance as an expression of the lifestyle of Christchurch's “well-to-do early" last century.
