Description
The Jaboticaba tree is known for its unique habit of producing fruit directly on the trunk, making it a visually striking tree. The black fruit has a tough edible skin and a texture similar to a grape. It has a sweet and aromatic flavor. Additionally, the tree has decorative coppery foliage, making it a suitable ornamental specimen tree or a great option for hedging.
The tree can grow up to 5 meters in height when planted in good conditions. It is self-pollinating, so only one plant is required to bear fruit. The Jaboticaba prefers temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius but can handle some frosts. The tree retains all its leaves during winter, making it an evergreen. It is also suitable for growing in pots, as long as the pot is at least 35L in size. The tree requires moderate watering and prefers good drainage soil. It prefers full sun.
This tree is over 3 years old and off to a great start.
Please note - we are a nursery with more than one of each product. The products in the images are stock photos, and the product you receive will differ, but will be the same quality and size.
