Lilly pilly prefers open, preferably deep, soil with reliable moisture across the warmer months. Avoid windy locations and frost. Lilly pilly performs best in full sun, although it can tolerate moderate shade.

Lilly pilly tree leaves have a glossy sheen with reddish growing tips. They can be used as hedges, windbreaks, as well as for attracting birds or simply as an eye-catching ornamental plant.

Lilly pilly’s are natives of the Australian rainforest, and generally do well in most settings and are pretty hardy.

Although Lilly pillies can grow into large trees in their Australian rainforest setting, they quite happily adapt to regular pruning.

Lilly pillys produce a marvellous display of highly fragrant white flowers in summer and the berries can be made into preserves and jams.

This plant has been grown from local seed without chemical pesticides or fertilizers
