A vintage 1900's engraved foliate locket 9ct gold with a cartouche not engraved on the back. Listed at $1 reserve as the front has thinned with some tiny cracks and the locket no longer stays closed. This was taken to Jewellery services on the North Shore who said this could not be fixed due to thinning to front. It does close sometimes, but pops open and could easily be held shut but in the interest of full disclosure I am listing at $1 reserve and selling as is .

Not hallmarked but tests as 9ct gold and could be a front and back locket with other metals used in the base for hinge etc. This was sourced from an estate auction. The back section has a woven fabric that might be hair but difficult to tell.

The locket is 22.5mm long and 18.7 mm wide so a good size. total weight is 4.09 grams

I have paired it with a gold dipped sterling silver chain that is 18inch/45cm and will come in the velvet box pictured.
