A vintage 1940's sweetheart locket 9ct gold /silver gold locket circa 1940-1945. During war time precious metal was rare so it was common to mix metals .This locket has the front made from 9ct gold and the back is sterling silver, lined with gold and a gold lined frame. I have added a brand new 9ct gold O ring and weighed the two different parts gold/silver due to high cost of gold. This locket snaps together which was common for the Navel lockets of this time . The back is stamped FNS sterling sil. The original bale would have been 9ct and stamped but has been broken or lost. The front section tests as 9ct gold.This was sourced from an estate auction.

The locket is 22mm long and 18.5 mm wide so a good size. Gold weight 0.93 grams silver weight 1.66 no chain included Total weight of gold and silver including silver chain 4.09 grams

I have paired it with a gold dipped sterling silver chain that is 18inch/45cm and will come in the luxury leather and velvet box pictured.
