This toki pendant has been carved from rare Te Tau Ihu nephrite, found in a local river in the Nelson/Tasman region and hand shaped into the taonga you see here.
Traditionally, the toki was a tool used by Maori. When worn, it represents courage, strength, mana and honour. A powerful symbol with deep cultural meaning.
