Meet Maxine, a 4 year old brown tabby cat.

Personality: playful and gentle but very cautious. Given the chance to hide under a couch or bed, she will, and she won’t come out until the humans are gone.

She loves a chin scratch and a pat if she is contained in her bed and she gets quite purry and snuggly with the patting hand, but out in the open she will stay just out of reach.

Likes: watching the home’s activities from a nice tall cat post, the rattle of the cat treats such as Temptations.

Dislikes: being picked up -she hisses and panics.

Ideal home: a quiet loving home with grown-ups with low expectations. She would make a good mouser for a bigger property.

Other friendly cats and cat-friendly dogs would be fine.

History: desexed as part of a Trap-Neuter-Release program in Christchurch but her feeder has relocated and wants a new opportunity for Maxine.

Health: desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (next due in a year) flea-treated and wormed and comes with 30 days free pet insurance.
