We have made the difficult decision to put our boy Rocky up for adoption. At home, he is a very energetic & affectionate dog, who loves playing with the kids, could chase a ball all day, and loves a pat and a cuddle with his humans. However, he is a very anxious dog, and can be territorial and protective of his family when someone comes to the house or a stranger approaches on a walk. He can be silly and jump up, and has a tendency to nip. We have to control his surroundings a lot to try and keep this under control. He is not the best with saying hello to other dogs, but once introduced plays very nicely. We have done our best with training some of these tendencies out (he is very treat motivated), but have come to the realisation he is not improving (falls back into the same tendencies) and needs a quiet home with less triggers, and an experienced owner who can give him all the attention he requires.
He is healthy, and up to date with vaccinations and flea & worm treatment. He does have anxiety and has been given medication in the past to help support this but is no longer taking as made no lasting improvements to his temperament.
Our family wants to see him go to a new loving home, as we know he is a very lovely dog with us, so is hope for him to find his place somewhere else.
