We need to find a new home for our 3 year old Border Collie /Jack Russel cross, Luna. We have had a major change in family circumstances and sadly can’t offer Luna the time and energy she needs. Luna is loyal and loving and has been part of our family for 3 years. She does have some typical border collie traits – very active and protective of her territory, barking only when she detects a threat and prefers to be around humans rather than other dogs. She responds to basic commands and learns quickly. Luna prefers to not be around small dogs or young children that are noisy or get in her face, as this makes her anxious, so you need to be able to read her body language. Luna loves going everywhere with you but also is happy to be left at home a few hours if needed. She loves 1-2x 30min walks each day and loves to play with her toys especially balls and her frisbee. Luna is a good natured dog when she is not put in environments that make her nervous. Ideally she needs a large section, lifestyle block or farm where she can play or work. We want to take our time to find the right new owner for Luna to make sure you are the right fit to give her a happy life. The ideal new owner will love and understand border collies, so they can continue her training and not put her in environments that she doesn’t go well in. It is important to us that Luna isn’t left at home all day while someone goes to work, and that she gets plenty of love and time from someone. She will come with accessories like a bed, collars, leads, and a cage for traveling or sleeping, plus a variety of toys.
