Bay Of Islands Animal Rescue proudly presents...Spirit!!! Spirit is a 12-year-old Knabstrupper gelding, approximately 15.3hh, looking for his forever home. He’s not broken in but is a well-handled, gentle boy who makes an excellent paddock mate and a calm, reliable babysitter for younger horses. Spirit is not herd bound—he’s happy in company or on his own. He’s up to date with dental work, and he’s great for the farrier. This lovely lad would suit someone looking for a quiet companion horse. Spirit is ready to settle into a peaceful new home where he can enjoy a relaxed, happy life.

HOW WE WORK We rescue and rehabilitate unwanted and abandoned animals, teaching them to trust again so they can find loving forever homes. Our team provides hands-on care, assessing temperament and beginning training to set them up for success. Once ready, they are placed in foster care to continue their journey before being adopted.

We follow a strict rehoming process, including property checks, to ensure our animals find the best possible homes.

Your new pet will come with a welcome pack that includes (when available) food, treats, and their very own collar and lead. Plus, we offer a two-week trial period to ensure the perfect fit—for both the adopter and the animal.
