Urgent rehoming of Gauge – Shar Pei X Mastiff Christchurch

Meet Gauge! Gauge is my senior boy of 10 yrs. He is fixed, microchipped and about 40kgs.

He came into my life around 6 years ago now and has been my absolute rock. Even back then he had an old soul and a loving spirit. It is with the heaviest, and most broken of hearts that I am having to rehome him. This is due to my own personal health conditions and a sudden, urgent move.

Though still full of spirit and beanz, being a senior dog, Gauge would best suit a quieter home. No young children but he can get on well with other dogs provided they don’t pester him. He is absolutely fine with cats! Gauge is so happy to just chill most of the day and wants nothing more than love, cuddles and laying in the sun. He requires minimal exercise, despite running around and acting like a goofy puppy still at times, as he does have some arthritis. He is on pain meds for this which has made a world of difference. He is honestly such an easy doggo and an absolute joy to have around. He makes for a great guard dog as his bark is big but knows his command to stop and won’t keep barking incessantly. He is great off lead and will come when called, will sit, laydown, leave and shake.
