Posting on behalf of, we have not met him. Charlie has been in current home for about 6 weeks, he came from a pound. Sadly he is just too big and strong for his carers.

Details we have been given:

Charlie, 2.5 years old, medium-large sized mixed breed (31kg). Neutered, vaccinated, chipped, wormed. Located Christchurch.

Calm and quiet inside. Settled, sleeps a lot on his beds, relaxes. Very affectionate, loves a lean, a belly scratch, lots of cuddles. Very gentle and respectful with our elderly anxious cat. Can sometimes be a bit jumpy when excited but respects a flat hand held out to remind him ‘feet on the floor'.

Friendly and confident with anyone new, approaches to say hello and solicit cuddles, will go to bed when asked.

Very good with our granddaughter, 22 months. Child is allowed to pat gently.

Calm and quiet in the car. Hasn’t challenged any of our fences or gates, would need 6ft fencing to be safe.

Loves playing, with balls, tug and soft toys. Can be vigorous and bouncy, is learning not to jump on us but sometimes forgets. Will grab a toy and play by himself too but loves a friend.

Strong and pulls on lead if he wants to get to a tree or bush. We are using a front attaching harness which helps a lot. He is particularly interested in other dogs and is quite determined to go to them, no aggression as far as I can see, just huge play drive. He has not been free to play with other dogs as I’m not confident to let him off the lead out in parks. He has met and played with our son’s labrador. With time, positive training and physically fit owners, he will learn.

He is so lovely and deserves the best home. I really hope he finds people who will love his softness as we do, appreciate his manners and also enjoy his energy.
