Description
5 years old
This is QUEST - she is a Hungarian Vizsla looking for a new forever family to give her all the love and care she's had for the past 5 years. Our circumstances as a family have changed and we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome her.
Quest is a beautiful-natured girl and is very gentle and loving toward our two children and the people she is most familiar with. She can be a bit weary of new people and will let you know when a stranger is at the gate. She knows all her basic commands, has done some scent work, and has been trained in the basics as a deer dog (including gunshots) and duck dokken retrieval. She also completed Kiwi aversion training in April 2021.
Quest has a LOT of energy and would suit a family who has space for her to run around and who could walk her daily. She has a very strong prey drive, so a home without cats would be preferred. She can be standoffish when meeting new dogs, but after slow introductions, she has successfully been around other dogs and played for hours. Quest has a fantastic nose and loves scent work games!
Quest weighs 20kg. Can be walked on or off lead and has a fairly solid recall. She is an entire female, in great health, is up to date with her vaccinations and flea/worm treatments. She is microchipped and registered in the Waipa District and with DogsNZ. She has been crate-trained and sleeps in a crate at night. She is happy to be left in a run if we go out and can sleep in a doghouse outside when needed (e.g DOC huts).
Her best forever home would be full of love, kids, and potentially a companion dog. She would live primarily inside, and she would need a fully fenced space to run about and to be walked daily. This is a condition of her rehome that the next family has space/time available. Located in Waipa.
Please call or message me directly if Quest may be a good fit for your family.
