Buddy is a 2.5 year old, microchipped, neutered male Hunterway x Collie in need of rehoming. Buddy spent the first year of his life with a young couple who left him tethered in the backyard. He didn't receive a lot of attention, training, or exposure to the outside world in this first home. Buddy's current owner convinced this couple to allow her to take Buddy for walks. The first owners eventually asked to transfer ownership. Buddy & current owner have been making excellent progress with a trainer, but she does not have the time, energy, or experience that Buddy needs to thrive.

Buddy is a very sweet and cuddly boy who is very eager to please. He is currently working on long-line walking, recall, and calming skills. He is very happy when in familiar environments and with people and dogs he knows well.

Buddy is looking for someone able to provide him the structure, discipline and training he needs to build confidence and unlock his amazing potential. He is motivated by praise, food, and toys. He will slot right into a stable routine with an easy to understand training style, like with a clicker. He would be an incredible project dog for an experienced owner. He would be fantastic at agility sports once he figures them out.

Buddy would happily learn to live in a home with older children. He is not suitable for a home with young children, cats, or small animals like rabbits. He would need a fully fenced (tall) back yard.

Buddy has so much potential, and with his huge desire to work and please he would develop quickly into an incredible dog under the right conditions.
