Kora is a 8 year old Whippet x Bearded Collie. She was born on Waitangi day 2017 and we adopted her as a rescue at 7 months. Kora is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog, she loves to snuggle and strongly bonds with her favorite people.

We are reluctantly looking for a new home for Kora as she hasn't adjusted well to our baby (who was born in late 2023). Despite normally loving kids she didn't do well with having a crawling baby in the house and she still isn't enjoying being with a toddler.

We think that it may be time to find her a home where she is fully comfortable rather than spend more years hoping she starts being friendly to our child.

Kora would do well with adults or older kids but may struggle to adjust to a house with other pets. She is well past her high energy younger years and she is very content with a good walk, short run, or some off-leash time once a day.

She is well suited for people who work full time. We have always worked out of the house and she is perfectly content to hang around the house by herself during a standard work day.

She is at times dog reactive, especially on leash, but with redirection and instruction she manages it well. She has been fine when we put her in kennels or dog walking services with other dogs. We think her reactivity is mostly due to being protective of her people.

Her health is very good, she is fully vaccinated, spayed, micro chipped, and never needed any medications.

Kora is located in New Plymouth and would only go to a home where we feel there is a good match.
