Black Opal’s foster writes:
Black Opal has a big personality! He’s playful and full of energy, with bursts of zoomies followed by long naps in the sun. When he’s tired, he becomes very cuddly and loves snuggling up with his people on the couch.
He loves toys, car rides, beach adventures, going for walks, and playing with his foster dog siblings. He’s happy in a busy family environment and does really well with older children.
Black Opal is also cat-friendly!
He is fully toilet trained and will sit and wait at the door when he needs to go out. He’s highly food motivated (dried liver is his favourite!) and is doing great with training. He knows how to sit, stay, come when called, walk nicely on a lead - and he’s recently learned to shake hands and lie down!
At night, Black Opal sleeps soundly in his crate from around 10:30pm to 6 - 7am, and he settles easily into his crate for naps during the day while his humans work from home.
His energy level is moderate - he enjoys activity and stimulation but still needs plenty of rest and downtime.
Black Opal would thrive in a loving home, with or without children or other pets. He just wants to be included in family life - whether it’s joining in on outings or relaxing with his people. He’ll do best with someone who’s home often and can involve him in daily life as a true member of the family.
