Kaira is an incredibly gentle and affectionate Velcro dog who loves staying close to her human. She thrives on physical affection and is exceptionally loving. A medium-sized girl currently on a weight-loss diet, she adores people and quickly warms up to strangers, often seeking their affection. She needs to be an indoor dog with a very loving owner. We estimate that Kaira is approx. 3 years old and a Staffordshire cross (she sure has the signature Staffy smile!), but we will do an Orivet genetic DNA test for breed identification before rehoming her.

Ideally, Kaira would do best in a household where she is the only dog, as she craves being close to her people. However, she has shown great social skills with dogs of all ages and sizes at our premises. She prefers to play with male dogs and did show some discomfort signs when playing with a very assertive, high-energy small breed female. While she ignored our assertive cats, we did not conduct a full cat-friendly evaluation. She also ignored livestock. We don't have small children and babies on site. She walks well on a leash, though she can occasionally pull, so we would prefer an owner who can handle her.

Kaira requires a secure yard and on-leash walks since she was previously unsecured and got lost, with subsequent reports under her previous owner’s care. She was rehomed due to no fault of her own, as her owner left the country.

Currently, Kaira is microchipped, desexed, and registered for 2025-2026 in Bay of Plenty. She is an indoor dog, fully housetrained, and very well-behaved both inside and outside. Calm, gentle, and reasonable, Kaira enjoys sniffing around and going for walks, but above all, she loves being around people.
