Lemna minor, commonly known as Duckweed is a s a species of aquatic freshwater plant that works great for any aquarium setting.

It's high in protein and serves as excellent fodder for goldfish (my ducks love it too :)

Free floating on the surface it can easily be incorporated in your aquarium setup where it will help filter the water and maintain the nitrate cycle as well as offer shelter for smaller fish.
