Absolutely breathtaking, this rare high quality Victorian decorative uranium glass centrepiece is in very good condition, handblown by one of the Richardson’s: H. G., W.H., B., and J. Richardson, at Wordsley (in the glassmaking district of Stourbridge, England) during the inaugural period when uranium glassware first made its documented appearance in the 1830’s
This beautiful decorative Victorian centrepiece is approximately 175 years old, featuring H. G. Richardson’s stylised splayed glass leaf feet and convolvulus ruffled rim, which was the designers recognisable and distinctive decorative style

Between 1848 to 1851 the Richardson and Son’s Glassmakers hand crafted a high quality selection of sophisticated styles of uranium glass tableware and inspirational centrepieces. In 1851 at the Great Exhibition held at the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, Richardson won a Bronze Medal for crystal and coloured glass and secured an order of glass from Queen Victoria
On February 14, 1852, W.H., B. and J. Richardson was declared insolvent
