Chips on toe cap are not the toe cap itself, it's the reinforcing glue I applied to protect it, I saw small cracks around plastic which probably doesn't matter, but I'm fussy and had the glue, hence applied a coat to protect it. Haven't used that much, sole still in good condition with great grip, the wearing (lightened leather colour etc.) is mainly caused by a few river crossings, though did fully dry and applied leather conditioner afterwards.
