Freight Charge

You can choose to pick up from our premises during opening hours, or freight is available at the following charges:

• Auckland (up to 2.4m width, Non-Rural) : $5.00 per blind
• North Island (up to 2.4m width, Non-Rural) : $10.00 per blind
• South Island (up to 2.4m width, Non-Rural) : $15.00 per blind
• Extra charge for Rural areas : + $10.00 per blind
• Over 2.4m width : $40.00 per blind

Freight charges must be paid in full before dispatch.

You will be notified on the day of dispatch with a tracking number. Freight is available to all customers in New Zealand.

Packaging

When blinds are couriered, we will make every effort to package your blinds appropriately for delivery to you by courier. Please ensure that the goods have arrived in good condition before signing for them.

If your blinds have been damaged in transit, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery, otherwise we will not be held responsible.

Returns / Claims

Any claims must be made in writing (e-mails are accepted) to Blindsmith within three working days following arrival/collection of goods.

I’ve got some huge windows in my home. What is the maximum size I can make my blinds?

At Blindsmith, we make up to a size of 3000mm wide, with a 3000mm drop. We can create blinds larger than this, but keep in mind that large blinds are heavy, and could strain your hardware or window frames. We recommend splitting blinds for larger windows into two sections. This will also make them easier to operate and clean.

My window is very high. Can I make the controls longer?

Certainly! When you’re submitting your measurements, let us know how long you’d like the controls to be and we can make them to size.

What’s the difference between front and reverse roll blinds?

You can have your roller blinds as either front or reverse roll. Front roll blinds roll towards you, leaving a big enough gap between the window and the blind for the handle to sit comfortably underneath. These look seamless and modern.

A reverse roll blind rolls towards the window, so the fabric sits very close to the glass. You will see the roll at the top when you’re inside the room. They can look very homely and rustic.

How long will it take for my blinds to be made?

We custom-make all our blinds onsite in our Auckland premises to ensure the highest quality and perfect fit. It takes us between 10-15 working days to complete your order. But if your order is particularly large it may take a bit longer. We’re happy to discuss timing with you and see what we can do to help.

Can I pick up my blinds from your premises?

Of course! If you live in Auckland and don’t want to pay the courier or installation fee for your blinds, you can pick them up from our factory.

We supply venetian and roller blinds to multiple businesses including window furnishing and interior design companies, and individual contractors throughout New Zealand.

Venetian Blinds

Wood Venetian Blinds: The 50mm slats are natural eco-friendly wood material for our Venetian blinds. A look that’s always in style. No matter how your view them - from inside your space or from the street - Wood Blinds bring enduring value to your home.

PVC Venetian Blinds: Also known as faux wood, PVC slats are exceptionally resistant to UV damage and moisture. PVC venetian blinds will not warp, crack, peel, or discolour therefore perfect for areas that are prone to moisture such as bathrooms, laundries, and kitchens.

Roller Blinds

Sunscreen Roller Blinds: Retain view of the scenery while minimising direct sunlight. Virtually invisible to outsiders during day time but we recommend complementing sunscreen with blockout fabric for complete privacy at night.

Blockout & Thermal Roller Blinds: Prevent light from entering any room where strong sunlight is present. Blockout roller blinds provide heat insulation, create total privacy and are mould and fade resistant.

Vertical Blinds

Drawn aside to offer full view through the windows or tilted and closed completely for full privacy. Ideal for large ranch sliders, change the angle of louvres to the exact desired angle to control light and privacy levels.

We are unable to take any responsibility for incorrect measurements given to us by a customer. Please - if you are unsure, then ask us before placing an order. Alternatively, please see our listings for measurement guide.

If measurements given are too long; we can reduce the length of a roller blind for a cost of $35.00 (not including freight costs). If the measurements given are too short, then a new blind will need to be made as we cannot lengthen the size. Please note that the width of venetian blinds cannot be reduced.
