Adding to my portfolio of the best value on Trademe Radio control rs, ESCs, Servos, & Switches especially for Meccano & robotic enthusiasts, this is a PWM speed controller for use on brushed DC motors but WITHOUT a radio control system.

If you run your model directly from a DC source such as a battery or plug pack then this low cost device is just want you want for speed control. Turn the knob to provide a speed control from about 5% to around 99% of the rated speed. I can also supply a low cost 12 or 24v mains power supply if desired.

This uses pulse width modulation PWM technology similar to ESCs on radio control systems.

THIS MEANS THAT UNLIKE OLDER CONTROLLERS THAT VARY THE VOLTAGE THIS UNIT GIVES CONSTANT TORQUE ACROSS THE TOTAL SPEED CONTROL

Take for example the 100 rpm 12V motor I sell. Reducing the voltage down to 4 volts drops the speed down to about 30 rpm but at that speed it has no power & is close to stall. With this device & a 12V supply you can change the speed from about 5 to 100 rpm with negligible change in torque across the range,
