This is a model of the ill fated Lusitania sinking in the Atlantic Ocean after being torpedoed by a German U Boat on 15th May 1915. This is a model made by the well respected model maker Dal Flannery of Hawera who has made over 300 models of mostly New Zealand ships, a large number of them being Union Steam Ship Company ships which are displayed in various Museums around New Zealand. This model is in a glass case and will need to be collected. Apologies for quality of images as photos taken through glass.
