Purchased this but found the problem before it arrived - never opened or used

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 61361729004 (61 36 1 729 004) and is described as a Relay Motor, but is the Main and ECU relay for the Motronic DME in E30, E36, E39, E38, and E53 X5. A faulty relay will not send power to the engine control unit (ECU, DME), preventing the engine from starting and/or causing stalling. It's advisable to keep a spare relay on hand.
