Land Rover Series II/IIa/III Truck Cab Project
Description
This is another project I'm not going to get to...!
This is a complete truck cab for a Series II/IIa/III. But this is a project and needs some work to make it useable...
To my knowledge everything is there, and includes:
- The roof
- The back panel with sliding window glass and hardware
- The curved corner windows
- The door seal mounting brackets (these bolt to the roof and seal the top of the doors when closed)
- The in-fill section to allow this to be mounted on a regular rear bulkhead - this sits under the rear window section and bolts to the rear bulkhead behind the front seats and are hard to find these days.
The roof itself is a little rough, but it has no major dents (no-one has jumped on it, as is often the case!). It does have a hole in the centre front (maybe someone mounted a spot light there in the past?) which has a patch over it - this is probably the worst bit...
The rear sliding window panel has no rust and no dents. The glass is complete, but the corner glass will need to be re-installed (the rubber had totally perished so I removed the glass before it fell out). As far as I can tell the only missing bit is the push button on one of the sliding door locks; I have not investigated this and I don't know if it can be repaired or will need replacing.
At the very least, this will need:
- new rubber to mount corner windows
- new felt for the rear sliding windows - although they do slide now, they're pretty much sliding on metal
- new rubber seals top and bottom on the rear panel
- door top sealing rubber
- all the bolts to hold it together
I fully intended to totally restore this for my Series IIa SWB - but I have come to the realisation that I have more projects that I have lifetimes, so I'm hoping that someone out there will get to it before I would....
Pick up is in Milford, Takapuna; I'm not going to ship this...
