Freda Lodge is a 23-room boarding house situated on large park like grounds at 11 Freda Place in the heart of Favona, located only a few minutes’ drive from Mangere town and 15 minutes to the airport. All rooms have been recently refurbished and are of a good size. They are furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, drawers, chair, fridge/freezer, pantry cupboard and a 32 inch smart TV Most of the rooms are the same size. Rates are $300 per week for one person with an extra $50 per week for a second person in the room (couples only, no share twin).

Your rent includes power, water and unlimited fiber Wifi internet. Common areas are cleaned weekly. Meals are not supplied. You will be expected to keep your room hygienic and clean up after yourself when you use the communal areas.

Communal facilities include five toilets, four showers, a new kitchen, dining area, lounge and computer alcove. The communal areas are spacious and nicely furnished. Rooms are heated via a radiator heating system, ensuring comfort in the cooler months. Freda Lodge has a large outside courtyard with covered porch areas, tables, chairs and a BBQ. There is also space available for personal vege gardens.

Two washing machines are available free of charge and a coin operated dryer complements the washing lines available.

Parking is available on an allocated basis.

There are currently 29 flatmates, including about six couples. About three quarters of the current tenants are working and one quarter are on a benefit or pension. The average age is 50 something.
