Description

Afternoon sun pours into the lounge and master bedroom, both of which open onto the balcony - your ideal city haven. It is such a big bonus in this building to have the private west facing balcony. This unique apartment has a high stud, two generous bedrooms with excellent light and storage, one bathroom, and a private entrance.

This fully furnished apartment is positioned perfectly in the building, on the sunny west corner and elevated over the city. You will enjoy many afternoons and evenings entertaining or just having quiet time in their fabulous city home. The outlook is fun and interesting by day and stunning by night, with the lights of the city and sky tower the perfect backdrop.

The current owners have tastefully renovated this character gem and the owners committee are very pro-active in keeping this beautiful historic building restored. No earthquake strengthening required. Exterior refurbishment is well underway. A wonderful lifestyle awaits you in this highly admired and sought after character building, located in the heart of the CBD. Some of Auckland's finest restaurants, bars and cafes including Commercial Bay are right on your doorstep. A stroll to Britomart and the Viaduct, also handy to all transport and the Ferry building.

The Dilworth Building is a heritage mixed-use (residential apartments and shops on the ground floor) building. The building by William Gummer & Reginald Ford was constructed between 1925 and 1927 and is listed as a 'Historic Place - Category 1'. The building was constructed at the behest of James Dilworth as a rental property to help fund students at the Dilworth Ulster Institute (which later became Dilworth School).

Originally the Dilworth Trust Board office was on the 9th floor (with a mezzanine floor) while the rest of the building was let out to tenants. The building was sold by the Dilworth Trust in the 1980s, but it still retains some of the original interiors. It has housed the American consulate, and during World War II served as headquarters for the U.S. Army.

The best that city living offers!
