Offered here is a beautifully struck 1970 commemorative bronze medal issued by the State Savings Bank of Victoria to mark the bicentenary of Captain James Cook’s 1770 voyage to Australia aboard the H.M. Bark Endeavour.

Obverse: Features a detailed portrait of Captain James Cook, inscribed “1770 * AUSTRALIA * 1970 * CAPTAIN JAMES COOK BI-CENTENARY” and the designer’s name, Stokes, beneath the bust.

Reverse: Depicts the H.M. Bark Endeavour under full sail with “THE STATE SAVINGS BANK OF VICTORIA” around the rim and “H.M. BARK ENDEAVOUR” below, complete with cannon and fort detail. Material: Bronze Diameter: Approx. 38mm Condition: Very attractive original finish; displays beautifully with sharp detail.

An excellent addition for collectors of Captain Cook memorabilia, Australian history, or commemorative medals. Ideal as a historical display piece or for vintage numismatic collections.
