This toy is based on the Monsters vs. Aliens movie from 2009: an American animated, science-fiction, action-comedy, family-film produced by DreamWorks. A woman transformed into a giant after she is struck by a meteorite on her wedding day becomes part of a team of misfit monsters sent in by the U.S. government to defeat Gallaxhar, an alien mastermind trying to take over Earth.

The Missing Link (usually called Link) is a 20,000-year-old fish-ape hybrid who was found frozen from the last Ice Age, and thawed out, only to escape and wreak havoc at his old lagoon habitat by terrorising the tourists. He is the only monster who can understand Insectosaurus, his best friend.
