This auction is for all 5 Megalodon teeth pictured. They are all genuine fossil teeth, with no repairs or restoration.

Otodus megalodon (scientific name) 23 - 3.6 million years old Found on the lower east coast, USA.

These teeth would make a fantastic start (or addition) to a fossil collection! This collection includes 2 upper jaw teeth and 3 lower jaw teeth, all have visible serrations and one is still very sharp. While they are all relatively small compared to how large these teeth can get, they are still from the largest predatory fish to swim in the ocean and that is pretty cool! No fossil tooth is perfect.... the imperfections on each fossil help tell its story. The buyer might even consider turning them in to jewelry, they're a good size and shape!

One common comment I hear from people when they see a small Megalodon tooth is "It's too small to be a Megalodon tooth". Not all Megalodon sharks were massive, only a small percentage of adults reached maximum size... but they were all small sharks at one point and they all shed teeth. Jaw position affects the size (and shape) of the tooth too! There are a few key features (called diagnostic characteristics) I look for to ID a tooth and these are without a doubt, Megalodon teeth.
