At the beginning of 2005, with the help of the Sunday Star-Times, Edmonds launched the search for new Zealand's favourite recipes.

Thousands of responses were received detailing not only their best-loved recipes but also the most missed, as well as wonderful memories that Edmonds recipes evoked. Responses came from the length and breadth of new Zealand spanning many generations - for the first time in one book these are truly New Zealand's favourite recipes. Classic Edmonds includes all your favourite recipes, along with Edmonds famous "handy hints". Snippets of Edmonds history and recipe trivia are also presented. Not only a piece of Kiwi kitchen nostalgia, but an invaluable collection of loved and reliable recipes. Classic Edmonds pays tribute to the recipes and memories of the New Zealand kitchen.
