Use MyListings and the Listing Performance Rating

We want you to have access to the insights you need to make more informed decisions, faster.

Every view your listing gets on Trade Me could be a potential lead, so let’s make sure your listings are working as hard as they can.

We’re introducing MyListings and our new Listing Performance Rating to give you an at-a-glance view of how well your listings are performing and which ones need to be improved.

How MyListings works

Use MyListings to make more informed decisions faster.

MyListings gives you access to real-time key metrics across all of your listings. Use these insights to make informed decisions on stock price, age, health, supply and more.

MyListings key benefits:

  • View key metrics such as stock price, supply, age and more in one place.
  • Compare the performance of your listing with other similar makes and models on Trade Me.
  • Know where your stock sits compared to the market and price it perfectly, daily.
  • No more time-consuming manual stock price checks.

What is a Listing Performance Rating?

Get more interest in your listings and sell cars faster. Our new Listing Performance Rating compares your listings against how we'd expect them to perform vs similar listings on site. Use these insights to improve your listing quality to drive leads.

This lets you know which listings are doing well and which need your help, all in one place.

We visualise your Listing Performance Rating on the following scale:

How is it calculated?

When you load a car onto Trade Me, we’ll compare the current and predicted performance of your listing to similar cars based on make, model, age, mileage, body type, fuel type and price.

We consider the advertising potential of each individual vehicle when calculating the rating, not just comparing listing performance across vehicle types. For example, a Toyota Hilux will almost always get more interest than a LDV T60 due to supply and demand.

This means you could have a worse listing quality for the Toyota Hilux, price it higher and still probably get more attention than the LDV T60. However, the Toyota Hilux would have a worse Listing Performance Rating because we adjust the rating compared to what is expected of other similar Toyota Hilux’s.

The low Listing Performance Rating simply means your listing is generating much less interest from buyers than other similar listings on Trade Me which means you may have lost the opportunity to sell it quickly with the best margin.

How you can improve your rating

We know what an excellent listing looks like and how it should perform. The following variables are what Kiwi buyers are looking for, and what you need to nail every time to ensure that you get enquiries from active buyers.

  • The level of detail in your description.
  • The number and quality of photos and video you include.
  • The price of the car meets the market.
  • And then, if you’ve done everything you can consider changing your prominence.

An excellent Listing Performance Rating will indicate that you’ve created a high-quality listing that is correctly priced and has the right level of exposure on Trade Me to get seen by buyers.
