This is a quilting pattern book for a technique called "Shadow Quilting.". It has the look of applique, but without the raw edges to turn under. In the old days, it was called shadow embroidery or shadow stitching. It has 3 layers if fabric: a foundation layer, a coloured design insert, and sheer fabric over that.

This book has a pull-out section of designs. the book demonstrates how you can use the technique to decorate clothes, pillows, quilts, tablecloths, towels, toys and more.
