Only use this adapter with a USB-C to USB-A 2.0 cable when connecting to an iPhone otherwise it WILL NOT charge.

unfortunately this is a technical restriction that imposes on the 8 pin interface.

i.e. 8 pin connectors only support USB-A 2.0 (host).

for best results charge your device from a USB power source with output up to 5V/3A (max.).

Does not support charging from a USB-PD power source or audio and video signal transmission.
