The Afghan Kazak rugs are best known for the "Abrash Effect" or "marbled effect". The technique involves spinning the yarn so tight by hand so that the dyes do not permeate the yarn evenly, creating an uneven, but beautiful natural-looking effect.

The rug also has the effect of looking aged, even though the rug is brand new. This gives the rug an amazing elegance.

The designs incorporated in Afghan Kazak rugs are mostly those from the ancient Caucus, hence, reflecting a strong Caucasian, particularly Kazakhstan, influence.

Afghan Kazak rugs incorporate vegetable dyes, and 100% hand-spun wool from the Ghazni region, known for the quality of its wool.
