Salvia Farinacea 'Victoria Blue' is the bluest of the blue. It is a very rich royal colour. Although a hardy perennial this plant, often grown as an annual as it is fast growing from seed, taking 3-4 month to maturity. It will last in the garden for 5 years or more. Hardy to -5C. It produces long flower spikes with masses of beautiful blue flowers from late spring to to the frosts. It is tolerant of heat, humidity and sea spray. It grows to about 45-50 cm in height. Prefers a position in full sun in cold climates or part shade in hot climates. Makes a wonderful container plant. Excellent cut flower and the flowers dry beautifully producing a pretty effect in dried bouquets and arrangements. This salvia will go dormant for winter in cold areas. It has received the Gold Medal Award from Fleuroselect. Plant is in a 8cm pot.
