Among knowledgeable aficionados, Mikimoto is the name in quality cultured salt water pearls. And I present to you this lovely vintage (mid century?) Mikimoto pearl necklace (with sterling silver clasp) in the original box. I've taken photos with the pearls on both a dark and a light background so you can hopefully get a feel for the colouration and tone. I'd consider it a silvery white colour, with only a very very slight cream tone. To my eyes more of a white than a cream, but please examine the photos to judge for yourself.

The pearls range in size from 4 - 7mm. The clasp is stamped with the Mikimoto insignia, and based on the design I believe this is probably a 1950s/1960s set.

The necklace is a decent 51cm in length. Condition wise it has some slight age wear to the metal on the clasp, but no significant issues that I can find on the pearls themselves. From my reading about vintage Mikimoto necklaces, many of them were not individually knotted, so it's possible (probable?) this has been restrung at some point.

These are ex-estate and originally came with a few other mid century jewellery items, so the period is about right.
