Auto Super Shoppes is one of New Zealand's premium automotive repairer groups, supporting a nationwide network of high-performing workshops.

We're growing, and with that comes the need for a sharp, capable Operational Accountant to join our Albany-based support office.

This is a hands-on, operational role with variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to join a growing organisation with leadership responsibilities.

About the Role This is not a pure compliance or tax-focused accounting role.

You'll be right in the engine room of the business, responsible for keeping key financial processes running smoothly, while identifying smarter, more efficient ways of doing things.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Rebate processing
• Central billing across the network
• Supporting month-end and management reporting
• Assisting with basic end-of-year accounts
• Working closely with the General Manager on financial operations
• Supporting and guiding a small team

We are currently transitioning to a new system (Acumatica), so there's an opportunity to contribute to improving processes and helping shape how we operate going forward.

About You

We're not looking for a top-end tax accountant.

We're looking for someone smart, capable, and practical - someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck into the detail.

You might be:

• An Assistant Accountant ready to step up, or
• A Senior Administrator with strong accounting capability

What matters most is your ability to think, learn, and execute.

You will bring:

• 3-5 years' experience in an accounting or finance-related role
• Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced)
• Experience with accounting systems
• Confidence across AP/AR and core financial processes
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• A mindset focused on improvement, not just maintenance
