Site Safety Co-Ordinator

Taylors Contracting are currently working on a range of projects both locally and around the South Island and lower North Island. We are seeking a Site Safety Co-Ordinator for a fixed term 2-year role based in our Brightwater office. This role will be supporting our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, alongside the project teams. It is a great opportunity to add value to our projects and day-to-day business while supporting the safety of our people.

Key responsibilities include:

• Promote, champion, and drive continual improvement and best practice in all aspects of Health and Safety
• Ability to teach and educate staff / managers about safe and best practice
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health and Safety systems and processes
• Assist or undertake any necessary investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, or near-misses in conjunction with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager
• Conduct safety inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Coordinate and deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks
• Maintain site safety records and documentation

You’ll bring with you:

• Proven experience in a similar safety role
• A passion for promoting and building a safe work environment
• The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships to positively influence, encourage and support
• The ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health and Safety frameworks and legislation
• Heavy industry experience desirable e.g. Mining or Manufacturing, including exposure to construction and/or earth moving industries
• Excellent communication skills
