Permanent 1.0 FTE (80 hrs per fortnight) position

About the Role
We are looking for a full time Administration Assistant working as part of our reception team for Community Mental Health Outpatients department. This role is often the first face to face contact someone has with our Mental Health service, as such were looking for the right person to meet and greet people experiencing mental health distress or illness along with their whanau. A genuine caring and warm personality is a must, along with patience, calm demeanour and resilience to engage with people where theyre at.
This role works alongside a back-office admin assistant/typist and closely with the administration Team Leader and is also responsible for managing outpatient clinics for our Consultant Psychiatrists as well as other Community Mental Health staff among other things.

About you
Preferred candidates will have the following:
- Excellent customer services skills, communication skills under pressure and flexibility to manage difficult situations calmly and professionally
- Proficient IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook)
- Experience learning and navigating IT based systems, with preferred experience in a health care setting
- Significant general office based skills and experience
- Sound knowledge of Equity principles, a commitment to bi-culturalism and demonstrable application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
