PRODUCE MANAGER

We have an exciting opportunity for a Produce Manager to join our team at New World New Lynn. In this role you will work closely with the Store Manager and other Senior Managers.

You have the chance to lead a hero department.  Produce is critical to the stores overall success. 

You will be responsible for planning, leading and controlling the day-to-day running of the Produce Department.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Ordering for the Produce Department and maintaining appropriate stock levels

· Ensuring quality and freshness is up to standard

· Ensuring the correct Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures are followed

· Price Integrity

· Working with team to achieve department KPI's

· Develop and manage your team including rosters, recruitment, training and performance management

· Control inventory and minimise wastage while maintaining exceptional quality

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Strong planning, organisational and communication skills

.  Being truly Customer driven to deliver fresh quality produce at a fair everyday low price.

· Good computer and financial literacy

.  Skilled in using SAP

· Ideally have experience in a fresh food management or leadership role in a retail business 

· Be physically fit, as heavy lifting is involved and you will be on your feet a lot during the day

.  A passion for and love of produce.

· Excellent personal hygiene and be tidy

· Display high presentation standards, honesty, and a strong work ethic

· Strong leadership skills and a customer service orientation

· The ability to develop relationships and communicate and negotiate effectively with suppliers to drive commercial outcomes.

· Excellent people skills and ability to lead a small team

.  A current forklift license would be preferable
