Online Delivery Driver & Picker / Shopper

Our stunning store, in the heart of the magical Mangawhai community, has been operating since October 2022. 

With grocery, butchery, seafood, deli, bakery, produce, liquor, chilled and frozen, online and checkout departments in a beautiful new store, we are bringing a new era of shopping to our wonderful customers.

Do you have a passion for people?  Are you focused on providing an excellent customer experience? Do you have experience driving a delivery truck / ute / larger vehicle and are physically fit ready to make shopping deliveries and mix it up with picking orders in the store.

We are looking for an online assistant to join our awesome team at New World Mangawhai!

The Role:

• Ensure operational excellence is achieved for all online shopping orders
• Ensure all items are packed safely into the truck and delivered in top condition and correctly to customers
• Physical - lifting and stacking crates full of shopping items
• Ensure items are picked, packed, processed and invoiced efficiently and accurately
• Ensure the responsible sale of restricted items
• Provide an excellent level of customer service focusing on providing the best customer experience possible
• Communicate with customers advising out of stocks, substitution and other relevant information
• Build positive relationships with the wider team and leadership to obtain the very best results
• Support other departments in the store as needed - we are in it together
• Approx 30-35 hours per week - with 2 days driving and 2-3 days picking

What are we looking for:

• Driving experience - ute / truck (not necessary to have a HT licence but an advantage)
• Strong work ethic, dedicated, reliable, honest and be an excellent team player
• Confidence, initiative and maturity to work unassisted and make excellent product decisions for customer
• Confidence using computers, tablets and other technology
• Supermarket / retail experience is advantageous but not essential
• Adaptable and willing to do a variety of tasks
• Self-starter and the ability to support across multiple departments as needed
